open thread: what’s going down this weekend
well since we got more than a few comments on this last week i figured we’d throw it open again.
so tell us, what’s going down this weekend?
i’m going to a halloween party saturday night, but other than that, no plans, so i, at least, could use some suggestions.
p.s. – if i wasn’t going to a halloween party i would most certainly be going to see these guys at vinyl.
$10 gets you in at the Andrews Upstairs costume bash Saturday evening where there is a $1500 1st prize costume contest. BUT, you have to buy a ticket online by 4pm Saturday.
Also, and I know this is kind of next-weekend-ish, but there’s a crazy party going down in Buckhead that is a fundraising event for AIDS. check it at CreativeCause.com.
There’s Charlie Murphy at the Roxy tonight, and DJ Spooky at the Loft tonight and tomorrow night.
There is pants party and you are invited.
Castleberry Art Stroll this evening – http://www.castleberryhill.org/artstroll.html
this is one of those things I say I should go to every month and never actually did. I’m looking forward to it. Has anyone been? What’s it like? Should I bring a flask? :)
My evening tomorrow will feature a halloween tour in Oakland Cemetery. http://www.oaklandcemetery.com/capturingHalloween.html
Oh! I just looked at my own link and realized they encourage costumes… gotta come up with something now.
Manchester Orchestra tonight (Friday) at the Drunken Unicorn.
‘Nuff said.
I’ll be at the Manchester Orchestra show tonight. I’m surprised James didn’t mention it.
yeah, k1ng, seriously, cannot believe i forgot to mention that. i think i posted about it months ago when it was announced. i couldn’t make it friday because of other stuff.
how was the show?
It was really good. This is only my second time seeing them, but I really enjoyed the show. Annuals didn’t play that night because they were stuck at the airport in Spain. I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get to see them.
Annuals recorded a version of Manchester Orchestra’s Where Have You Been that I would have liked to hear live.
