Nike Suspends Vick’s Contract
This morning’s New York Times reports that Nike suspended Michael Vick’s contract yesterday. You would have to be living under a rock to have not received an email requesting that you sign a Humane Society petition to ask Nike to drop Vick. Nike hasn’t dropped him, but is suspending the contract until Vick’s case is heard.
I do think Nike is doing the right thing, but I wonder how much the petition had to do with the decision. Nike doesn’t release information on how much Vick’s contract is worth, but it makes me wonder just how much this is hurting Vick’s wallet, and even more, how much the loss of the contract hurts Nike. I am sure it is no small amount, and Nike should be commended for taking a hit to their wallet for doing the right thing. Or maybe Vick has become such a liability that doing the right thing actually saves Nike money in the long run.
Whether or not the petition prompted Nike’s decision, I for one am glad to see such a groundswell of public opinion turning against Vick. I hope he gets every little punishment he deserves and I am enjoying each one that comes down the pike.
The Humane Society is still petitioning the NFL to suspend Vick from playing until this matter has been decided in a court of law. You can sign the petition here.

Look at the outrage over dogfighting…….yet so many people are gunned down in Shitlanta everyday…..seems to me dog life is more important than nigger life in the good ole US of A.
