There Is A Shopping God
First, I got wind of the Lush store that will soon open in Lenox Mall. There’s nowhere else I’d rather spend too much money on cleverly-named bath and body products than this Canadian-based, natural ingredients shop.
Then, a friend e-mailed me that lululemon athletica—a yoga-inspired athletic apparel company—will be opening a store here. Their clothes are so cute, you will want to work out simply to show them off.
Now, it appears that H&M is finally on its way to Atlanta. Having just hit the H&M in San Francisco’s Union Square (and scoring a very nice dress at a fraction of what I’d expect to pay at a regular retailer), I can truthfully say that my retail dreams will be fulfilled by this trifecta of shopping splendor.
I swear…I’m not your typical “shop til you drop” kind of girl. In fact, I’m quite the opposite. But I appreciate a good retail experience when I see it. Now we’ll have Apple Stores, an IKEA, and an H&M. What other retail stores have you anxiously awaiting their arrival?
I’ve never been so happy when reading this site then I was a moment ago when I saw that Lush is opening in Atlanta…it’s about damn time! And an H&M too…the planets must be aligned!
Lush and H&M!!!!! I’m really a lot happier than I should be about consumer products, but H&M!!!!!
Don’t forget… we (relatively) recently also got a Fry’s! (Two of them, if I’m not mistaken)
And I’m awfully happy about the Trader Joe’s. Now if we could get a good sandwich shop…
@Greta, there are several great sandwich shops in atlanta.
You can try:
Havana Sandwich Shop on Buford Hwy. Great Cubans!!
Jimmy Johns on 14th. I know it’s a chain but it’s damn good.
Woody’s Famous Philadelphia Cheesesteaks on Monroe
New Yorker Marketplace & Delicatessen on Pharr Rd. Best deli outside of NY here in Atlanta.

Damn double posts!!!
mmmmm, Cuban sammiches – we’ve also got strong contenders at Papi’s on Ponce and Kool Korner on 14th.
And if you don’t want to limit yourself to the Cubans, Bread Garden in Amsterdam Walk has some of the best bread I’ve ever tasted, so I bet it’s safe to assume the sandwiches are equally amazing. And of course, Marco’s got the best pitas in the coolest, most welcoming restaurant/cafe in the city (Marco’s Pita on Ponce).
Yeah, it felt like we waited forever for Trader Joe’s…now if I can just get one on my side of town.
I’ve had those cubans — they are good. Jimmy Johns — not so much.
Some of your other suggests sound very good (or are very good) but don’t equal “sandwich” to me. And also involve a drive across town which I don’t feel like you should need to do for a great sandwich. You should be able to throw a rock and hit one!
Might be Zesto fried chicken again…
Live the lululemon manifesto. I’ve had it hanging in my cube and on the side of my fridge for 4 years.
Sabrina, I detest shopping, but I love the bargains at H&M – Great news.
