starlight six has the coolest stuff….
i really do mean it. the the starlight six drive-in on moreland just south of i-20 has the coolest stuff going on.
this saturday they are, believe it or not, they are hosting the the downhill challenge soap box derby. seriously, what could be more fun than watching drunk itp’ers race homemade cars down a ramp.
the key details:
this saturday
doors @ 10, the races begin @ noon
cost is $5 to get in if you are not entering a car
kids are welcome but there is booze
check out the brochure
so perhaps andy and captain obvious can settle their differences with a race down the track?
h/t to cody for submitting via suggest a story.
That is totally cool! And close! Alas, i have to go to a stupid baby shower (shower is stupid, not baby). Will let kids and husband know, though. Bet my son would dig it.
I had been meaning to go to Starlight for four years and finally made it out for a movie a few weeks ago. Loved it – you sit outside, people are grilling, drink a few beers with friends, watch a movie outside. I’m hooked – we went again last week.
I was looking forward to the Drive Invasion – and now a soap box derby? Pretty much my favorite place.
And Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse tour is stopping there. What are they showing — a Burt Reynolds triple feature!
There’s a scavenger hunt associated with that Drafthouse tour that a friend and I are supposedly participating in — it runs from Atlanta to Texarkana!
I can’t believe I *still* haven’t been here! Thanks for the reminder, it’s going on the To Do list right now.
austin’s drafthouse is great! I would love to have one like it here in atlanta. the drive in is similar but doesnt really compare.
chello, you should buy the madison theatre in east atlanta and make it happen….
