Best Of Metroblogging

I’ll go ahead and warn you: This is a little bit informational, and a little bit tooting my own horn.

I occasionally check out other Metroblogging cities’ sites, along with their Best Of and Active Discussions pages. Part of this is purely egotistical – I like to see if my posts have been actively discussed – but part of it is simply because the posts in those categories are usually great reading. For instance, Metblogs L.A. just completed a week-long series called L.A.’s Top 25 Legends: The Guide. Good stuff.

So, I have to toot my own horn: Two of my recent posts (here and here) were listed in the Best Of category, along with some really great posts from authors all over the Metroblogging community.

Be forewarned, you can waste a lot of time reading these, but it is an enjoyable waste of time.

Also, if you are just looking to delve into a particular city, I highly recommend Metroblogging New Orleans; While we are here in Atlanta posting about the weather and the traffic, these authors are writing about some seriously messed up stuff, and doing it with humor and honesty.

Thanks, Maigh. I felt kind of stupid blogging about my own posts being put up there, but I did think it was a decent lead-in to tell more readers about the Best Of series, some of which are just amazing, and totally out of my league, and also to publicize how impressed I am with some of New Orleans’ posters.

Anyway, I appreciate the pat on the back.
