Criminal’s Valentine’s Day Gift to Me
One of the really sucky parts of having kids is that there is no way you can go out for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner without them. Everyone else has plans that night, too, so there is no way you are getting a sitter. Normally, that’s okay, because the husband and I have come up with a sushi tradition, where we put the kids down, then one of us get sushi takeout and a bottle of wine and never turn on the t.v.
I was a little bummed this year, though, because Alexi Murdoch is playing at Smith’s Olde Bar on Valentine’s Night. His Time Without Consequence was number seven on my Top Ten Albums of 2006 list.
Then I find out today that he is doing an in-store performance at Criminal Records. Now, we are usually putting the kids in bed at like 7:30 pm, but I am thinking that they might get to stay up late on Valentine’s and see a little music to boot. Wish me luck on convincing the husband that it is worth braving a late-bedtime tantrum to see some live music. And don’t worry – if there is a tantrum, I am not one of those assholes who just laughs it off. I will promptly remove the crying child from the establishment.
If you haven’t heard Alexi Murdoch, you can check out some songs on his myspace. Good stuff.

You know what, its clear that this **** hates me. i tried to have the heart with a three and that other thing. you know, its next to the “m” key.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you are saying Criminal “hearts” me, which is so obvious from the whole Alexi Murdoch serendipitous instore thing.
Also, I think you mean Karat or Carat, (>) but, mmmmm, carrots. Yum. Thanks for the comments. :-)
