it’s opening day!
the georgia legislature just opened a little while ago at the capitol building and the ajc has a whole page of resources here to learn more.
one of the key stories in this year’s legislature include speaker of the house glenn richardson and lieutenant governor casey cagle vying for the chance to be the republican nominee for governor in a few years (ajc here.)
but perhaps the most important issue facing our state could be the attempt to roll back the restriction on sunday liquor sales (ajc here.) as one who frequently has to fight the traffic coming out of the tower liquor on piedmont on saturday night, i for one, wholeheartedly support sunday liquor sales. of course there will most likely be a huge outcry though from people who think that liquor stores being closed on sunday will somehow keep people from getting drunk on sunday.
anyway, happy legislating!
Yee haa liqur laws no wonders we is one of the most backward states in the country
Is there any organized movement re: the liquor law revisions? I’d love to post a banner or something and tell people how they might pressure their state legislators. Anybody involved and aware?
You can probably guess the side of this debate I’m on.
dunno, rich, but i’ll do some research and see if i come up with anything.
