Local Music Saturday

Recovering from last weekend’s debauchery? Not me. I have to take my outings when I can get them (damn kids) and tonight, the husband and I have a babysitter. We’re going to head out to dinner, maybe burn some of that cash we received for Christmas (Thanks, Mom and Dad!), and we’re thinking we might check out some local bands.

As James mentioned in a post a while ago, Manchester Orchestra are playing the 585 tonight. We might try to check that out, or we might take in The Preakness (Myspace warning) at Lenny’s. The husband and I have both liked what we’ve heard from them, and want to see them do the live thing. They’re playing with Luigi, Moresight, and The Eyes.

I got 1 track from the preakness on my ipod somehow and I love it – see them.

Maybe I should have made this a poll so people could vote on where my husband and I spend the evening. :-)

Yeah, I am torn. I have liked what I’ve heard from both. I think Manchester Orchestra are on tour, though, so theirs might be the “rarer” appearance.

We’ll see. Might just flip a coin or let the husband decide.

My vote goes for Manchester Orchestra. I’ll be there tonight.

Related question: Does The 585 have a liquor license yet? Someone told me that they have a BYOB policy. I can’t seem to find any info on their website. Does anyone know? Thanks!

No idea concerning liquor license, but if they don’t have a license, The Preakness are looking better and better.
