That Didn’t Take Long

Storehouse, which opened this spring (much to my disgust) in the former Market One space on the corner of Ponce and N Highland will be closing due to financial issues.

Clearance sale signs are on the windows already, and I really can’t say I’m broken hearted to see them go – Atlanta born or not.

Hope to see someone (local) succeed in that space.

Can they be forced to replace Jason Johnson’s mural before they close?

Really odd. According to a news piece I read about the closing Storehouse has been searching for a company to buy them out for months. In other words, they we planning on going out of business one way or another but spent what I’m sure wasn’t a small amount of money renovating / building that Ponce space.

So you’d rather see that space sit empty… which is what it will do now. As one employee of Storehouse said, “This corner is cursed.”

I think a more accurate statement would be, this corner doesn’t have enough parking.

I didn’t even know that it had opened. From “Now Hiring” to “Everything Must Go” in a nanosecond.

    I miss Harry’s.
