Can We Get Some Red Tape, Please?
Okay, who’s in charge of approving permits for road work in Atlanta?
Did they not realize they were closing part of the left lane, then the right, then the left again on Spring Street in a 5 block stretch ALL AT THE SAME TIME?
They may as well have closed the damn road down between North and 14th for a few months, it would have been less frustrating than trying to navigate the barriers, steel plates and people who wait until the very last second to get in the “open” lane (because they’re clearly more important than anyone else on the road). Every morning, a new surprise. How many lanes will be open today? Which ones? Only the Phantom knows…
Really, though; which branch of the city government is in charge of this? I have some calls to make.

Try the Department of Transportation. It’s also where you get residential parking permits to park your car on the street in Midtown (not safely, but at least without tickets).
West Peachtree = the exact same crap. It will be lovely when the 14th street bridge is closed.
Ha! I don’t know what’s funnier. You expecting the City of Atlanta to do a decent job (or anything at all resembling a job, for that matter), or PurpleGirl expecting free stuff from Needless Markup. Metroblogging owes me a new keyboard, because I just spit beer all over mine from laughing so hard.
