News You Won’t See On the News

Seems there’s a new crime streak leaving a big ol’ gnarly skid mark through some of the in-town neighborhoods.

One of our most well loved establishments – Buddy’s – was robbed at 5am Sunday at gunpoint.

I don’t remember this happening in my 3 years living within a 1/2 mile from it. It breaks my heart, makes me angry, and makes me question what the hell is going on around here lately.

When I talked to the guys about an hour ago (don’t ask) they said it was two guys with guns and that yes, they made away with quite the pile of loot.

Go in to Buddy’s and show the love. They’re going to need it. Think of it as a financial hug.

Damn…crime sucks. I hope the police catch these losers.

Know a guy who lived for a long time in the Edgewood area. His house was broken into and ransacked by the neighborhood crack dealers. Police don’t seem to care. This seems really wrong.

I heard that Buddy’s recently stopped taking credit cards and switched to cash only . . . It’s from a semi-reliable source. Can anyone confirm or deny it?

    Not true, exactly.

They’ve been having a lot of issues with their equipment lately and intermittently can’t accept them.

Thanks, Maigh — that makes much more sense. I couldn’t imagine a gas station only taking cash. Majestic is one thing, but don’t typically have the 45 bucks on me to fill up my car (especially with some of the more expensive gas in the city, although I often show Buddy’s the love for convenience).

Over the last month or so the Card swipes insode have been down a good bit. I have had to go outside and use the ATM to get cash several times. I am there daily and give the guys a hard time when the machines are down. I have been in there alot real late coming home, and it has always seemed safe to me. Hope it was just random crime. Never understood the crime in the area, and the tuff that goes on over on boulevard with the polic department being so close! Rock on Buddies….
