Well kids, it’s that time of year again!

This weekend rainbow flags will be out in full effect, marking the 36th annual pride weekend in The ATL. Friday night if you’re not already booked up, the pride prom will be held in Magnolia Hall at Piedmont Park. It’s one of the first events of the weekend and I can’t wait to see the pictures! At the same time, there will be a committment ceremony held at Crown Room of the Sheraton Midtown Atlanta at Colony Square (registration begins at 7).

The names project quilt will be on display in the meadow from 12:30pm-4pm on Saturday, and if you’ve never seen it now is your chance for reflection, memorializing and celebrating how far we’ve come combating what remains a crushing and indiscriminate disease.

Love a parade? Whether you sit on the sidelines cheering and waving and holding up scorecards to rate the floats or you march with friends and loved ones, the pride parade is one you won’t want to miss. Assembly begins at 10:30 at the Civic Center MARTA station and the route will take participants down Peachtree from Ralph McGill to 10th then Piedmont and into the park.
