Roaming Atlanta
Well, the Atlanta Film Festival is in full swing. I saw the opening movie, Quinceanera, last night and enjoyed it! (Jesse Garcia – you rock) Then of course, the smoozing parties! For at least one week each year, Atlanta has a bit of a Hollywood flavor. It’s actually very cool. There are tons of movies all next week so, if you’re into something with a different flavor, be sure to check some out. It helps the festival and, more importantly, Indie film folks – one of which, is yours truly.
Anyway. Since I’ll be roaming the streets of ATL this entire week, if I find any juicy gossip or buzz, I’ll let you know.
I went to see Laura Smiles at the Landmark yesterday, which was a fair film. My friend and I hung out at Après Diem afterwards, where she met a guy in town for the festival at the bar. He works in the (ahem) adult film industry. I don’t recall seeing any films of that genre on the schedule…?
Wish I’d been able to make it to the Quinceañera screening to cheer Jesse’s homecoming too!
I wanted to see Laura Smiles. I was trying to see as many different genres of film as I could but can only see so many.
Yeah, the, uh, adult industry didn’t seem to be included in this year’s schedule (grin).
Jesse is a good friend and he’s a awesome actor. I’d like to see him in more stuff!
Oddly, the last time I saw Jesse in person, he was dressed as some sort of mariachi singer (or was it a bullfighter?) and I was dressed up like the Chiquita banana lady. It was one of the strangest acting gigs I’ve had.
