GT Basketball woes

Overheard on Tech campus today:

Student 1: I just can’t believe – I mean, I’m shocked – that we blew the game last night
Student 2: I know, I know. I really thought we had Duke.

And I’m thinking – you’re shocked? Have you not been paying attention this entire season? Tech blows it against everybody! (And Duke beats everybody). Tech is going to be good – next year. With so many underclassmen it is just hard to put together a mature game and a mature season. But once these really talented freshmen get some experience… woah.

In other news, I heard today that the Clemson football fans were among the nicest college fans in the nation – in that they treat opposing teams and their fans really well, actually. Is this true?

Considering that this years senior class would include Bosh and Jack, it is okay to be in a down year. Hewitt has shown that he can recruit the same guys as the Tobacco raod schools – especially given the class we have next fall, and some of the early 2007 commits.

And Clemson is probably the best place beside Bobby Dodd Stadium(at Historic Grant Field) to catch a Tech football game. The fans are generally good natured and nice, and the stadium there is something else. It is my favorite away game by far – I stopped going to athens because of all the morons that pop up on game day.
