Atlanta’s CNN goes desktop – totally desktop.
Now for you news junkies. Our hometown team – CNN – has launched a new product called CNN Pipeline. It’s a way to get multi-streams of news video feeds from CNN on your computer desk top.
Of course, I had to check it out.
On my MAC, it launches in my browser and works very well on my G5s. On my Windows XP systems, it’s a program to download and install. The MAC ate the web version up. The delay from live CNN via television was less than 60 seconds. On the Windows XP system, it was a bit slower and the PC had trouble processing the multiple video feeds. I think they are in Adobe-Macromedia Flash format.
However, you have to pay for this little feature. 0.99 cents a day or $2.95 per month or $24.95 per year. I signed up for the yearly deal. Yeah, I know, I’m on news overload but, hey, it’s sort of my job. And, it alerts you on the PC desktop of breaking video feeds.
Get on it CNN!
