The Best of 2005?

I’m not sure if this is going to actually count as a “post” as I am not sharing any witty anecdotes, relaying juicy gossip OR providing any worthwhile information ..rather I am soliciting info from our bevy of readers … y’all know who you are!

In the annoying spirit of the season … I want to know:

What is the BIGGEST (read: RIDICULOUS, HEART WRENCHING, JOYOUS, FUNNY, WTF, etc;) story of the year, here in the ATL?

Was it ya girl …whatshername? The one with the bug eyes that left her fiancee at the altar but came back with the damn blanket on her head?

Was it ya boy… Inmate #0509994? Dude lost his effing mind shooting up all those folks for no damned reason?

Maybe it was the Blogpolsion popping off at the AJC?

Piebar opening, Piedmont Parking Deck being approved, Shirley being re-elected, wi-fi at the airport, Fatburger opening, the ATL branding campaign, the Braves choking (again), the Falcons disappointing seasons, the original Club 112 demolition (pour out a lil liquor), TV’s on MARTA, IKEA, the new High, the Fish Tank?

You tell us …. what story is stuck in your craw? (that’s for y’all Suthnahs)

Let’s not forget our friend who hung out on a crane in Buckhead for 56 hours.

The passing of the “quality of (rich/suburban/tourist/white) life” ordinances and Atlanta’s attempt to be the worst city in the country for homeless people.

You’re right Coldatnight. It’s the city’s obligation to take care of the homeless and not make visiting Downtown more desirable.

If the homeless wouldn’t panhandle, sometimes aggressively, then maybe people in general would be a little more sympathetic.

The city doesn’t care about the homeless. And the HUGE panhandler problem will never be solved because the city is run by african-american crooks that don’t give a damn. I was approached over 30 times today and couldn’t give any more money after I gave to the first five people. The Kings are still profiting from MLK. It’s terrible. They and the city just don’t care. And the rich white people don’t care either as long as they are safe in their white area protected zones.
