Just Make It Raw
I had a quick business meeting at The Mad Italian on the “access road” near N. Peachtree Road off I-285.
The Mad Italian has good basic food, served quickly. I like that place for an hour meeting (no more) with whomever you are taking money from at the moment or when you just want a quick bite with your fast and “in a hurry” friends. Try it out.
If you are there at lunch time, it’s hell to park. Try going around to the back side or to the east side of the restaurant. But, don’t park on the side if you have a large F-250 pickup, you’ll block others and they will be pissed. I have a small car so I can. Most all the food is good so, be quick and decide. Remember, you only have an hour for cash!
The wait-staff understands you are in a hurry and takes care of you. I like taking money from people in a “help me please, I’m lost” mode, so it was a no-brainer where to eat. You may be surprised as to which of the “Southern Breed” CEO’s you’ll see there getting a quick fix.
Then, after 7 hours of computer work – saving YOUR ASS from trouble (trust me) – I went to another of my favorite food and drink spots, Doc’s on Cobb Parkway. Doc’s is a tradition. It has great food, cheap prices, and the drinks are not watered down like 100% of the other lame ass venues in Metro Atlanta. The bar staff have perky breasts, with I care nothing about, but, it’s a great place to play trivia on Tuesday nights because the M.C. actually researches the questions and they are harder than the other “trivia night” watering holes in the Big Peach. The winning money is real and you get paid on the spot in CASH. Cash is good. Cash I like.
Yesterday, I had a great meeting with one of the major movers and shakers in the U.S. Wine Industry. He’s working with me on a television show and I was tired of trying to sit and talk in a restaurant. Our first meeting was at the Buckhead Diner. After spending $80 on f**king lunch, the best part was the very sexy and intelligent valet parking guy. Next meeting – we met at the Barnes and Nobel just south of Cumberland Mall. If you want a place to go to just sit and talk in relative silence, (it’s a book store, damn it) try this place.
Of course, all the patrons there – in the coffee cafe area – are trendy people with laptops and bluetooth cell phones; taking advantage of the AC power outlets and various over priced pastries and coffee but, it’s a great place to wear your business clothes and look mildly impressive to clients. Try it out. You might make some extra cash. Remember, cash is good!
My last meeting with a client had to do with a certain topless bar but, I’ll save that for another post. It’s cool to see how many business decisions are made while sitting at a table with naked ladies dancing around you. Am I missing something? That’s all for the “ATL-RAW” report for the moment.
ATL-YAWN
My last boss liked to have at least one client meeting a month at a strip club. I think he was looking for a girlfriend more than a new client contract however.
I like Doc’s. We have a trivia group and even win trivia on occasion. Of course, the money ends up paying for the bar tab. I guess it’s one form of reward for listening to the news at night.
