Metalsome Monday is a truly righteous experience! As I hinted earlier, I went last night to the 10 High staple weekly event. I didn’t get to get up on stage and sing myself, as we arrived a little late to get high up enough on the list (some friends were leaving after the first set), but watching all the other karaoke-ers (that can’t be right…), virginal and experienced alike, was a wonderfully fun time and, I promise, next time I’m getting up on stage.

There were many highlights of the show, but I thought the best moment was the rendition of “Pour Some Sugar On Me.” Is there another song that so represents the metal period of music than Def Leopard’s classic? Maybe “Welcome to the Jungle” (done by a pretty preppy MSM virgin).

So, the experience gets somewhere around 8 thumbs up. That’s pretty good. It misses out only because the place was pretty smoky and I had to Febreeze my jacket like crazy when I got home.
