Chapter 11

Well, this is kind of sad.

Atlanta-based Chapter 11 Bookstores has ó get this ó filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
A retailing chain whose slogan once touted “prices so low, you’d think we were going bankrupt” will shutter seven stores by the end of the month as part of a reorganization plan.

Both of the stores that I go to are remaining open, so I suppose I should be happy for small things like that. I remember when Chapter 11 started up and I still enjoy going there for pretty inexpensive books and, as the article notes, some really good book-signings. Even though their selection isn’t as full as a Borders, the staff actually knows about books (imagine that!).
