Nobel week

I always pay somewhat close attention to the Nobel prizes, as my alma mater has a history of doing quite well with them. It’s interesting to note, then, that former U.S. Senator from Georgia (and namesake to GaTech’s International Affairs School and to a fellowship I have) Sam Nunn is thought of as a likely chance for the Peace prize.

[T]his year marks the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, so Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) and former Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.) were fetching odds of 6.5-1 for their program to dismantle Cold War-era nuclear arsenals.

How exciting! Keep in mind, though, that Bono has 7-1 odds for managing to appear on covers of rock magazines declaring him the savior of the third world. We’ll find out Friday…
