Really, is there anything else to say about number 14?

(Yeah, that’s the rooks holding up the pennant)

P.S. I have a theory that journalists write these “incredible run” stories about the Braves sometime back in July when they have an off day or something and they just fill in the quotes night of.

It’s a sound theory. Obituaries are sometimes written years ahead of time. All the “Braves Win 14 Straight” pieces were probably started several days ago.

Incidentally, last Sunday’s NYTimes included a travel story recommending travel New Orleans. The corrections page actually included a pre-emptive apology for it, explaining that it went to press pre-Katrina. I knew that newspapers do features ahead of time, but I had no idea that the NYTimes travel section had month-old stuff.

Enough serious talk — BRAVES WIN!
