understandable that he first had the conference call to discuss with the school officials, then released the info to the public…i’m guessing an anxious school official dialed CNN before the perdue team got their press release ready to go. anyway, i dont think anyone knows for sure what kind of shortage we can expect. the storm hasnt even hit yet and it was supposed to hit the refineries dead on but now looks like it may not. It could have anywhere from a major effect on supply or little effect (the market is now indicating expectations that the impact wont be as great as people thought). but i like the focus on things we all can do to cut down on consumption…for the short term and hopefully in the long term..such as telecommuting, carpooling and my fave, the 4-day 10 hour work week (been a big fan of this for a long time).
As far as panic, don’t.
carpool. walk. ride a unicycle (one wheel means less oil used for the synthetic rubber).
When I was a kid, I loved any reason to be out of school. I am having a flash back – WOW…. all the sudden I am 8 years old again……… DAMN…… $10,000 of psychotherapy is wasted!
