Quick Note

Regarding my post on www.take5atlanta.com and what appears to be an amazing deal on theater tickets, here’s the reply from the website:

“Hi Steve,
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, 10 theatres in Atlanta are launching a new program called Take 5. Patrons pay $50, and get a pass that gets them into 5 shows – one each at 5 different venues.

Our website will be up and running by Sept 1 – which is our launch date…sorry for the delay – the September issue of the mag came out a little earlier than we expected!

So, there you go. Should be good.

A: Because I work for the coalition, and

    B: Because it’s a better deal anyway …

I should let you know, in case you’re not already aware, of the AtlanTIX ticket booths at Underground and Lenox, where you can get same day, half-price tickets. This is offered by the Atlanta Coalition of Performing Arts.

I’m aware but, I’m hoping that this new “pass” will get more people to go to theatre in Atlanta. For some people, having a pre-paid pass makes them actually go and it seems to make people OTP want to take part. We’ll have to see their format and how easy it is to acquire the pass. I hope it’s pretty straight forward. Thanks for the info.

Where is the booth/store at Lenox? One of the reasons I haven’t use AtlanTIX more often is the inconvenience of parking and such at Underground (imho).

The Atlantix booth in Lenox is on the main level at the information desk.
