Comcast Stikes Again
I know youíve heard this one before, but Comcast sucks. My cable and Internet ALL go out at the same time repeatedly about 100+ times a day. This is not conducive to my World of Warcraft playtime, but I digressÖ
So today a Comcast fellow comes out, and I scratch my head and try to determine why they send non-technical people on these jobs. After one hour, he determines that my service is screwy because my cables are all loose. DUH jerkface. Like I havenít checked that before you come out. Literally 5 minutes after he leaves, Iím down again. Grrrrrrrr
Does anyone in Atlanta have an opinion on Bellsouth DSL?
They’re no better. In fact I kicked BS completley out of my house in 1999 when they couldn’t even explain to me why I couldn’t get DSL in my house, and kept me on hold for 2 hours while they transferrend me back and forth between the same 2 people.
I had problems with my Comcast internet (I don’t use them for cable currently — i have directv) which was solved by getting a new cable modem.
I had Bellsouth and I would not say it was any better either :( I have Adelphia (Comcast is not available in North Alpharetta) right now and the customer service seems better, but I think they all pretty much suck. I hope WiMax is all it appears to be and gets to Meto ATL sometime in the next few years.
Well, also, service varies from area to area. I love my current Bellsouth DSL and DirectTv (with Tivo), but the true might change if I were in a different area. One thing has been consistent; all the providers have terrible customer service… (Hope I never have to call)
Hmmm… my Comcast works fine.
I’ve had good luck with Comcast, in Lilburn and East Atlanta. However I have heard lots of horror stories from others. What WoW server do you play on? I play Alavar and Ravlar on Stormreaver.
You may wish to give Speedfactory a try. They’re local and have done a very good job for me.
i’ve had bellsouth dsl for 4 years now (3 in northwest florida, 1 in sandy springs) and it’s been great. very few service outages and quite acceptable throughput. it’s totally worth it to get the fastest speed available to your location.
customer service has been generally very helpful as well.
My Comcast was acting up for two months. Slow download and upload speeds. I finally had to get tough with them and say I didn’t care what the service guys say and what tech no-support says, I want it fix even if you have to string 10 miles of cable. Finally, after talking to supervisors and managers, my service is working well up here in Kennesaw. I just reminded them how much they spend on advertising to get customers and how quick all that money will go down the drain with a little bad publicity. That seemed to work wonders. The truth with set you free and get your cable modem working too.
If your phone service is BellSouth, I would definitely go with SpeedFactory — they’re very helpful and quick.
I have BellSouth DSL and have never really had any trouble. I think it mainly depends on how they wired your neighborhood.
