Here’s hoping …

Local outbreaks of cold and flu seem to go from non-existent to ubiquitous literally overnight and there is rarely any sort of warning. So, maybe if I post a heads-up, there will be no outbreak.

My wife took some unpleasant symptoms to the doctor this morning and was informed that she has contracted some sort of wicked summer flu that is, as we’re always informed too late, “going around right now.” After my wildly unfounded, shrieking accusations of her making out with someone else while I was out of town last week subsided, she also informed me that the symptoms have been lasting up to three weeks in many.

I haven’t heard from anyone else that there is any sort of summer flu “going around,” so maybe by making an official announcement, nothing will happen. You’ve all been warned.

Speaking of me being out of town last week, I’m sorry I missed the one-year anniversary bash last Thursday. It looks like it was a lot of fun. I’m going to try to make it to the Highlander next Thursday.

My family got a “one day flu” a few days ago. At first I thought it was just me… and I was feeling bad from five days of burritos… but a bunch of others at my work also got it. One day… puking… nausea… then all good.

I have what feels like a cold at the moment. No fever, but plenty of coughing, sneezing and snot.
