One Found, One to Go

I received word recently from Jeanette Zakkee about the whereabouts of Angel Denise Thomas, one of the two missing girls I wrote about a week or so ago. Turns out she was actually found the day before I wrote about it. Jeanette brought up the regulation of adult phone chat lines; I’m guessing that Angel’s disappearance was connected to that, and I do agree that the chat lines are worth discussing. In the past few years there have been a number of brutal fatalities resulting from meetings on adult phone chat lines, probably the most well-known of them being Ahmed Dabarran, a gay Somali Muslim man who was also an assistant District Attorney for Fulton County [link].

There is still no word on Shawanda Rutledge’s disappearance on any local media outlets.

I suppose adult chat lines and internet dating pose the same risk- meeting someone that you do not know or have friends that know the other person. It’s not smart to have someone come pick you up in their car the first few times, especially if you don’t know them.

Uh huh. Especially when you’re 15.

    Karsh —

What are the odds of this? My 14 y/o neighbor goes to middle school with Angel Thomas. He says that she was his girlfriend for a while.

    I’m glad she’s okay.
