Sensational!

sensational.jpgToday was Minerva Day.

It is becoming a sporadically occuring tradition for my co-workers and I to descend upon the local Indian buffet for firsts and seconds of Chicken Tikka Masala and stacks of naan. And Minerva on States Bridge is just the ticket. First of all, if you time your lunch right, there is no wait at all. Walk in, be seated, then hop right back up and hit the buffet. Don’t even worry about your drink order, because you know you’re just going to be drinking from those pitchers of ice water anyway. Secondly, the price is right. For under ten bucks, you can graze liberally from the six different buffet tables. Each is full of your Indian favorites, as well as several dishes you might not recognize. But consume without fear, as all are effectively labeled and everything tastes great.

But on the way out, I spotted the most amazing unauthorized use of comic book superheroes ever. The movie-poster-sized ad was for a Dosti Concert called FAME-2005 (starring the Super Six). I could try to describe the Photoshop brilliance, but I would fail miserably. Of all the times to not have my camera, or even a cameraphone! Luckilly, I memorized the URL across the bottom.

Behold.

Oh, but why did you omit the best part of this website?

    This line…

“DUE TO UNAVOIDABLE CIRCUMSTANCES THE SHOW FAME-2005 IS POSTPONED TO MARCH – APRIL OF 2006”

Yes, FAME-2005 will be held in 2006. Is the promoter of this show Microsoft?

You scare me with your parallel life of me!! Just last Friday some co-workers and I were eating Indian buffet but at Bombay Grill… my favorite dish, of course, is Chicken Tikka Masala. At the end, while waiting to pay… we looked over an “Indian” magazine and were also amazed at the new faces to old superheroes! Good food… good laugh.. :-)
