Asides #2

Man…this has been a busy week. 10- to 12-hour work days and then coming home to count votes and then pass out. So I’ll go ahead and get these out before I call it a night.

In the morning, I’ll be up and at ’em for the 40th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act March taking place downtown. The parade route is short, so don’t think it’s a Selma to Montgomery trek and stay at home. After the march there’ll be a Pro-Democracy rally with speeches by Andy Young and Jesse Jackson and entertainment by John Legend and Roberta Flack. And those are just to name a few. Besides, what else are you doing on a Saturday morning?

Little Known Fact: I worked for the National Voting Rights Museum for two years in high school and helped with the Bridge Crossing Jubilee up until I left for college.
