Random thoughts while running errands this morning

  • Are they ever going to do anything with the old Gold Club building?
  • The ‘new’ original Longhorn Buckhead location is opening on Monday. Mmm… Texas Cheese Fries…
  • If you’re looking for the new Harry Potter book, the Tower Records near the corner of Peidmont and Peachtree has many many boxes of them. 30% off, also.
  • The Container Store rocks!
  • Is it me or should the Joe Muggs have a lot more parking?
  • It is impossible to find a copy of First Things in this city. (A friend of mine has an article in it)
  • Hey! The B. Dalton’s Doubleday [Thanks, Thomas] bookseller in Phipps has been replaced by a clothing store… sigh…
  • I really wish the Braves were in town this weekend.

The funniest use of the old Gold Club property was when the Buckhead Church of Christ moved in there for maybe a month or so. They’re gone now, but one of their wooden crosses is still in the ground on the south corner of Lindbergh and Piedmont.

Yes, that was awesome. I really wish now that I had taken a picture. Sigh…

The weirdest part was the “collection garters” they used to pass around.

The dearly departed bookstore in Phipps was not a B Dalton. It was a Doubleday.

Gah! You’re completely right, Thomas. I’ll change it. Thanks.
