New Trolley Route in Midtown

Midtown residents may have noticed what look like lost Georgia Tech Trolleys running down Peidmont and Peachtree down near Piedmont Park. Tech has started a new route to extend its yellow Tech Trolleys in Midtown, with the intent of drawing the folks in the neighborhood into Tech Square. For now its just a pilot project, running through the end of the summer.

Unfortunately, there’s still not that much to do in sanitized Tech Square, and none of the trolley stops are labeled yet. I can only assume that they have plans to actually put up signs eventually. The intent is good, at least. If they could extend the route a bit to hit the MARTA stations and maybe out to Monroe near the Highlander and movie theater, they might see a bit more ridership.

It’s a start, at least.

Oh, and the trolleys are free.

Go to the Globe Restaurant right in Tech Square. It’s gorgeous, delicious, and reasonably priced.
