Happy 4th of July Atlanta!

What a great fireworks show at Centennial Park!! Thanks to 11Alive for providing the excellent TV coverage. As a TV producer, I can tell they put a lot into it.

One thing I found, as I was roaming around Metro Atlanta today, there are a lot of people with the July 4th Spirit. All over the Metro area I saw lots of American Flags and lots of people looking forward to joining in celebrations for the birthday of our nation. In my neighborhood, we have already had about 20 July 4th celebrations over the weekend. Flags everywhere, fireworks (legal of course, ha ha), Hot frigging Dogs, and lot’s of Bud Lite – well, I am in the N.W. Territories you know. The whole thing is really cool.

I guess the real reason I am writing this is the hope that all of us in Atlanta – the home of the South, the home of “true Southern Spirit” (sorry folks, it is my town), can come together and appreciate how good we have it here in the good ole U.S.A.

Georgia is home to a number of military bases and I invite you all to join me in wishing our troops the very best this 4th. Rock on Atlanta. Rock on America! Rock on Freedom

Does anyone know what the deal with Stone Mtn was last nite? We got there at 630-7ish and the entire park was closed, cops everywhere, and a gridlock on the highway.
