A Few Good Authors

The Atlanta Metroblog is looking for a few good bloggers to join our happy few. Twisted sense of humor, eyes in the back of your head and an intimate knowledge of the area are not required, but certainly help. Regular Octane attendance may be enforced at the random will of our captain.

When it comes to posting there are only two rules: Rule #1: The posts have to be about Atlanta. Rule #2: There are no more rules (I know, such a cliche rule, but it’s still early)

We are looking for authors that can post an average of 3 times per week.

Soo… apply here

Man, that’s a lotta bloggin’. Not individually, necessarily — any other year but this one, I’d probably be able to bang out an entry every other day. But the app page states they need at least 10 bloggers to start a metblog for a city, each of whom needs to post more than three times a week, so we’re talking more than four entries a day for the city’s metblog as a whole. Considering that anyone who gives a blog is probably also trying to keep up with a handful of news/politics blogs and a handful of personal/friends’ blogs (and maybe even blogging themselves)…my God, how much time do they think we have to read all this stuff?!

And the internet was supposed to make us more productive…

In all fairness, Shelby, it’s only an average of three times a week. Some weeks an author may only post once or twice. Other weeks an author may post something every day. And they don’t have to be long pieces. Pictures, little concert write-ups, shorts, etc. are all good also…

Besides, the internet may make us more productive, just not at the things that we want to be productive at.

I think I would need a 10-second delay in order to keep things appropriate and polite and whathaveyou..
