Pssst…
I know as Intown Dwellers, we thumb our noses at the mere hint of anything even remotely suburban. We cherish our friendly neighborhoods …our sidewalks… our local coffee houses, storefronts and boutique shopping.
But I couldn’t be happier as I rolled down Moreland avenue and saw this big red sign glowing.
It was nearly as inviting as the ‘Hot Doughnuts Now’ sign at Krispy Kreme.
I’m not certain that the store is open yet – I’m taking a field trip down there tomorrow and I promise to wear my Birkenstocks, while carrying my recycled canvas tote and my PowerBook!
Care to meet me there?
It’s like Christmas all over again! I love Target, and I love not having to drive to Buckhead even more.
Good news! It opened yesterday. They had a band playing and free food & drinks. Believe it or not, the giant parking lot in front is actually a deck. They poured alot of bucks into this development
When my guy and I were scouring classified ads for places to rent at the beginning of January, I swear half of them mentioned “close to the new East Atlanta Target.” I suspect it will be a success.
Meanwhile, service at the North Druid Hills Supertarget seems to have deteroriated from when I was living nearby; it always seems, when I go there, that they have 23 checkout lanes available and 3 open.
Wow. The “East Atlanta Target.” Funny piece of marketing, that, considering it’s in Edgewood. But whatevs.
Most of the prices at the new East Atlanta Target I compared (everything from Starbucks to Zone bars to tampons) were 10-15% higher than at the Druid Hills and even the Buckhead Target. Yeah, I had a word or two with the manager.
Did a run to this Target yesterday and I was very pleased. THe staff was well-trained and friendly, the isles were wide, the selection was better than any other Target in Atlanta and, at least for now, the place was clean and well-lighted.
