Braves ready to make another playoff run
Now that the NFL season has ended, the NHL has ceased to exist, Georgia Tech’s Men Bball team has tumbled out of the Top 25, and the Hawks…
My attention is now diverted to the Braves. Pitchers and Catchers report in a little over a week, the rest of the squad shortly thereafter. So I logon to AtlantaBraves.com to check out the schedule, basically wanting to get a feel for the “New Look” Braves Part Deux.
I am greeted by the front page article ,written by Mark Bowman, from which the title of this post was borrowed.

“Braves general manger John Schuerholz spent the offseason retooling and reloading his club in an attempt to challenge for its 14th consecutive division title…” So that’s it, eh? The goal for the season is not to WIN but rather Place or Show?
I wonder if Schuerholz paid any attention to the way Rich McKay handled the Falcons this season. Do you think Bobby Cox called up Jim Mora Jr. asking to borrow a light?
I’m excited to see Brian Jordan back and Smoltzy starting again, I will even admit to tempered anticipation for Tim Hudson’s debut in the ‘A’.
Yes, the 14th division title would be “NICE” but hardly the mark by which the Braves’ success should be measured. I say “World Series or Bust” …
To be honest, no one expected a 13th straight division title last year, but they still done it. Who’s to say this year won’t be any different, though the Mets will be a tougher team
