“You Play to Win the Game”

Let me start this off by saying – I’m from Upstate New York. Former Bills fan, current New York J!E!T!S! diehard (and believe you me – this week it is incredibly hard) fan…

But now that my team has beat itself – my attention is turning to the NFC … the NFC championship game to be exact.

Falcons vs. Eagles, 3 p.m. Sunday

So you’ve got:

Michael Vick vs. Donovan McNabb

Jim Mora Jr. vs. Andy Reid

The Long Suffering Eagles Fans (who have watched their team go to this very same game 3 times in the last 3 years and lose) vs. The Long Suffering Falcons Fans (who have yet to see their birds put together back-to-back winning seasons – hasn’t happened – EVER!)

Freddy Falcon vs. Swoop the Eagle

Arthur Blank vs. Jeffrey Lurie

As Sunday draws near, the trash talking will rise to a fevered pitch -battlelines will be drawn. ESPN/Fox will undoubtedly put together a hard hitting, emotion stirring, tear jerker that will amazingly appeal to fans of both teams – yet offend none.

The Falcons have the #1 rushing offense in the league … The Eagles have a sneaky Defensive Coordinator who surely will not be fooled by Vick’s pump fakes…

If the Eagles lose – they’ll be the Buffalo Bills of the Playoffs …

If the Falcons lose – the familiar “Mike Vick isn’t a QB” chatter will resurface …

It is going to be a close game – won by the team that Plays to Win the Game…

Go Birds!

I have to agree with you Kendall, whoever comes to play will win. We (the Falcons) have to bring our ‘A’ game.

The sad part is, at the beginning of the season I was hoping the Eagles would finally make it to the Superbowl. Not once did I envision them having to beat the dirty birds to get there.

Oh well, maybe next year Eagles…
