Ivan strikes!

So, that was some fierce wind and rain we got last night, huh?

We lost power at our place from about 3pm until around midnight, but that was the worst of it. Besides missing the Survivor premiere, it wasn’t so bad. I’m surprised we didn’t have any damage to the house, since we have these 100-foot, ancient pines all around the place, and any wind at all makes branches and cones bomb our roof. I did hear a large branch break and take out our neighbor’s glass-topped deck table, but our house was spared.

Anyone else get nailed? I know someone had to…when I called Georgia Power about the outage, their pre-recorded message said that currently over 300,000 Georgia Power customers were without power! That’s a lot of people!

I’m over on Lindbergh and we’ve been without power for over 24 hours. Arg! So thank you Bear Rock Cafe, for providing me with free wi-fi and hot food.

Ugh …the only thing that sucked was missing the premiere of Survivor -that show was (and always is my determining factor for watching the show) AAAAARRRGGGHHH! anyone know if it they plan to air it again?

Kendall, I checked the listings, and there aren’t any future airings that I could find. However, I found a coworker who taped it, and I’m planning to watch it at work on Monday. I can get the tape to you sometime after that, and definitely before the second episode next Thursday. Will that work for you? :)

I work in Midtown, across the street from Georgia Tech, and I live in Smyrna. Let me know at the beginning of the week how you want to do the handoff. :)

And I agree with you, the first episode of each season is very important in forecasting how entertaining the rest of the season will be…
