Olympic Mascots

Okay, we all remember the horrible Atlanta Olympic Mascot Izzy, right?
If you forget, here is the most flattering image available… really.

Anyway, people who disliked that mascot will be happy to know that Athens, still upset with losing its centennial bid, has been doing everything it can to match Atlanta in the bad mascot category – with Phevos and Athena, the Olympic twins. Atlanta has Athens beat on bad Olympic mascots, so have no fear; the Athens mascots actually have some meaning to them.

    Steve – didn’t mean to scare you with that Izzy picture. I know it can be fairly traumatic.

    P – good thing you said “kinda” because I was going to worry there.

    Blaze rocked, though. If we had been able to switch Blaze and Izzy, we would’ve been fine.

    And I LOVED the Homestar Runner Halloween cartoon where The Cheat dressed up as Izzy.
