Now I know the Children’s School well. It’s right on 10th across from Piedmont Park, and it looks like its campus is made of of several converted homes. But when I went to the site advertised, it merely mentioned the school does “not belong” in that area of Midtown.

Um, okaaaaaay… I pretty much drive down 10th on the way home everyday and notice that one lane is often closed so that parents can pick up their kids, but it’s never really that hard on traffic. Of course, the web site merely consists of some text and an ugly “under construction” .gif.

Can someone clue me in?

SOG returns to Piedmont Park this spring, hosting classic films in the 10th street meadow every Thursday evening at sunset from May 31- June 28. Make plans now to attend this FREE event. Bring your family and friends, picnic blanket, foods and drinks for a fun evening in the Park.

In a little TBS piece called Humor: Meet Baton Bob, the ambassador of mirth himself is shown spreading his joy to local residents and tourists who aren’t busy being thrown on the ground and handcuffed.

Gasper, the beloved beluga whale who became a star of the Georgia Aquarium, was euthanized this morning after months of declining health.
The ghost-white whale, who had fought a deadly bone disease for months, had stopped eating on his own several weeks ago and aquarium officials said at the time his chances of survival were slim.

It seemed like he was in the best care here in Atlanta, having been rescued from a poorly-kept amusement park in Mexico. I know a lot of Atlanta kids and well-wishers will be sad.

I promise I’m sober.

I just didn’t think it would be as easy as being right in my office building’s parking lot. Sweet!

Best coffee I’ve had in a long time: Dave’s Java World coffee cart on the first floor of the College of Computing at Georgia Tech.

Best Cuban cuisine: Las Palmeras, quaintly set amongst the neighborhood homes of 5th Street NE in Midtown.

I know a lot of people are breathing a sigh of relief, especially since BCBS is metro Atlanta’s largest health care provider. While I am forever thankful that I have insurance in the first place, the idea of having to find new doctors was a bit daunting. I mean, do you people know how hard it is to find a good gynecologist? Exactly.

The details of the deal haven’t been disclosed, but hopefully the fees will be somewhat reasonable and we’ll all be happy.

The Georgia sales tax exemption runs from Aug. 3 through Aug. 6. And just to be clear, exemptions only apply to:

-clothing ($100 or less per item. Sorry, no accessories, so put down that purse)
-personal computers (a single purchase of $1,500 or less including related accessories)
-school supplies: ($20 or less per item)
-energy efficient products ($1,500 or less for home/personal use)
