heh...then again, nobody is going to bet mauled by a freaked out infant who has an aggression problem brought about by proximity to thousands of other people and dogs milling around.

the dog thing is pretty smart public policy imho. and i'm a dog owner.

Strollers don't, but kids do.

They also make a lot of racket and have oblivious parents. Of course I'm over generalizing here, but the extreme statements are so much better for provoking an argument. :)

Duane, I left my dog at home, like a good citizen. Others, however, brought theirs.

Strollers don't poop, Maigh! It wasn't so crowded that a stroller couldn't navigate sidewalks anyway (unlike Inman Park).

I wrote about the same thing this spring during the Inman Park festival...my problem is this: if they're going to keep dogs out, can we also keep out people with strollers?

I personally don't mind the "don't bring dogs" rule, so long as people actually follow it. It makes me angry that people still bring their dogs, and I followed the rules and left mine at home.

Additionally, I think this is essential in park festivals, because people are basically assholes when it comes to their dogs, and rarely pick up the poo, even though there are bags available in the park. I am constantly surprised by how many people let their animals use the restroom and just leave it; which I would hope, is probably the reason this rule exists in the first place.
