Is meat between two biscuits a "sandwich"? ‘Cause that certainly opens up Reuben’s up to come competition from the good breakfast joints in the ATL. Regardless, I’ll have to give it a try.

Potatoes are nothing but starches, which have the same effect for my purposes as highly refined carbs.

I LOVED Sops/Loaf and Kettle, btw. They made a good Cuban, but the real reason they were great was the bread pudding. I’m sad the new location didn’t make it.

I’ll have to check out the places you mention. Still, I don’t think I’ve had a better sandwich than the New Yorker at Reuben’s…

I like Reuben’s, I do. But as far as the best sandwich in town and not the best sandwich shop, there are lots of other options I’d talk about before Reuben’s. Try the turkey sandwich at Leon’s. Try any of the sandwiches at Parish Market. Or a Po-boy at Just Loafin’. And Sops Loaf and Kettle (RIP) would also be a contender, were that they are still around.
