If you haven't been in to Woody's Cheesesteaks recently, consider this your official invite to return... New owner (me), new hours, and credit cards now accepted! I look forward to hearing from you with a follow-up on your next visit!

Woody's! Never woulda thought to write about it, but yum!

Concerning the Starlight: I also used to go to the twin where Regal is now. I also vaguely remember going to one in Alpharetta as a kid, behind the Food Lion (Food Giant? I can't remember now.) It was across the street from the Dairy Queen, which was one of those awesome ones you walk up to. Later, the Dairy Queen was a pool supply store. Actually, i don't even know if the Food Lion is still there, either. Don't get up that way much anymore. All of this rambling reminiscence is to say that i think people show the love because the drive-ins are vanishing Americana. I don't hit the drive-in often, but i would be damn sad if someone wanted to tear the Starlight down and build a Publix or Wal-Mart. To me, it's an Atlanta landmark.

I used to run by it 5 nights a week and drive by it even more often but have never been in. Can't say I'm a fan of cheesesteaks but your post combined with my intent to try new things has me contemplating giving it a go...milkshake and all.

Man, I love Woody's. When I lived over there it was the first place I took out-of-towners. Still, given it's sort of screwy hours, I didn't go nearly as often as I'd like.

As soon as we moved down, and I saw Woody's, I said, "We must go." But I'm surprised at how many other ATL-habitants haven't been. Again, I think it's the nutty hours of operation, but still — if you've driven by Woody's you know you must try it. It's worth whatever parking hassle might crop up, though, so go.
