Abby, I'm not sure I'm thinking of specifically a nerd store when I think of a "geek shop." Reckless Records, as one example, is a geek shop. You could have a geek shop that offers books and coffee, too. Really, though, the point of a "geek-shop" is as something that'll generate reactions for alternatives. Though, to be clear, I'd visit a nerd shop if it stocked indie music, books (comics and otherwise) and a decent selection of oddball T-shirts or something.

A neighborhood pub could be great in that spot, though it is a little small. But when you said falafel place, I went "Oooooo!" out loud.

So. Who's going to step up to open a falafel joint in the old Young Blood space?

Your mental picture of a geek-store was hilarious--I laughed out loud at your description! I agree bookstore/coffee place.

huh, Rashid, I completely agree with you -- I didn't realize I would be so annoyed having to login to comment for the first time. It was painless enough, though, not to scare anyone off of making comments!

Will, what on earth would be in a "general geek-shop?" I made myself laugh aloud when I pictured Young Blood filled with star trek figurines and lolcatz posters and Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans and life-size Princess Leia cutouts (come on, that's timeless) manned by Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. I vote for a bar. Neighborhood pub. Or a falafel place. And I'll go ahead and second your bookstore idea. Bookstore/coffee place.
