Whoops, We Did It Again.

CNN reports that earlier today our big, beloved Norton passed away.

Norton was another of the original whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium, and you’ll likely remember that less than half a year has passed since we bid farewell to his tank mate Ralph.

There seems little else to say besides RIP, big guy.

This is a sad story. Since no one understands why they are dying, I think it highlights the need for more extensive research on whale sharks.

Is it wrong for me to ask for a refund on my annual pass?

I think the aquarium needs to admit that they do not have the proper knowledge or facilities to care for these animals, which is sad considering two more whale sharks arrived from Taiwan two weeks ago.

I think this is the funniest unintentionally funny post on metblogs ever.

@ Brokerick – I’m sorry to hear that.

@ Kelly – AMEN. Shouldn’t there already be an on-line petition somewhere begging them to stop the insanity? Or was it my turn to start the revolt?

@ Ed – It was perfectly intentional. (Blame my mother, the double amputee. She started it.)

So would those who don’t want the aquarium to have the whale sharks rather they have been eaten in Taiwan? Thats what they do with them you know.

Who cares whether they are eaten once they are dead?

they say whale shark tastes like tofu — they call them tofu sharks — why you would eat a fish that tastes like beans instead of just eating beans is not something i completely comprehend.
