On a side note, I sure do love that old John B. Gordon school building. I just hope someone does something cool with it one day. I’m guessing that either some real estate company has a stranglehold on it, or its lack of parking prevents someone from renovating it and developing something there. Anybody know the deal with the building? It would be cool if someone would do a McMenamins-style redevelopment.

Yeah, Inman Park Properties is the real estate company that has a stranglehold on the JBG School. Along with a good many other properties that are just sitting there rotting in the East Atlanta Village. A group of concerned neighbors are fighting the good fight as best we can at a place called http://www.eastatlantabuzz.net

Register and get in on the action.

Oh, and we’ll have tons of drunkards at the beer fest too. Look for the louds ones in the T-shirts that say EAV Buzz…

Thanks, Tank. I figured as much about Inman Park properties. I actually have checked out the buzz, but frankly got annoyed at management’s decision to kick people who don’t post enough out of the insider section (tip of the hat to the Captain here, of course.)

My wonderful husband keeps me abreast of all the action, though, without me having to wade through the crap. He enjoys it thoroughly.

Glad you two are reading Atlanta metblogs!

    Hey Annie:

I thought you were just mad at me for saying ugly things …

I didn’t realize the Insider flap that happened a while back had irked you. That all came about because a member seemed to be getting stalked, so the gates were tightened down a little. But that’s all in the past, and as long as we have a sense of who somebody is, we let them through the Insider gates without requirements to be active posters or any of that.

And the Buzz is generally more available to guests, “lurkers” and the like these days. Why throttle back all that power, you know?

Ken, I love the ugly things you say. I really wasn’t bothered. Just don’t have the time to post regularly, and Todd tells me all of it anyway.
