Delta’s Bounce Back from Bankruptcy
So Delta is supposed to emerge from bankruptcy on April 30. Am I the only one doing the happy dance? I wasn’t a big fan of US Air’s takeover bid, and there’s just something so Atlanta about Delta that I hated the thought of it being run by folks in Arizona.
DL, I’m so proud of you. Big hugs all around.
OMG. I flew Delta for the first and last time this trip. LA-NYC we sat at the terminal at JFK for one hour. First waiting for cross traffic to clear. Then waiting for a plane to pull out of the terminal so we and the 3 planes in front of us could pull in. They have the oldest, most decrepit terminal at JFK.
Then on the way here, it was like all of Manhattan was trying to escape at once. Complete pandemonium as I have never witnessed at JFK on any other airline. Might have something to do with the millions they’ve spent advertising on every available surface in NYC. Coming into ATL, I almost got the crap beat out of me by some redneck who thinks it’s his god-given right to have (too many) ill-mannered children. I guess that’s what I get for being a female who’s not afraid to tell someone when their kids are working my last nerve.
Anyway, I’m scared about the flight back to LA, and as much as I love ATL, I’m just glad I’m moving to Chapel Hill so I won’t have to fly Delta to get here, I can just drive.
I’m sorry to be ranting on your warm fuzzy post, but the US government needs to stop bailing out bad airlines and let them compete like normal companies in a capitalist world. Then we’d have better airlines and better prices.
In the meantime, I think I’ll start a child-free airline…. ;-)
Delta has done a good job of emerging from bankruptcy and getting back on their feet. While I also have had delays while fling Delta, they remain my preferred airline. My experiences on some of the others have been terrible.
Instead of starting a child free airline why not start a parent’s must make their children behave airline. If the parent’s don’t make the kids behave they must compensate all the passengers on the flight. Perhaps this would get the parent’s attention.
Coming from a Delta family, I have to say that you are not the only one jumping for joy. We ALL are. :)
I have to respond to the last posting. Calm down and chill out Mack. I live in N.C.’s Triangle, and if you are going to hyperventilate over normal airline problems, you won’t have much luck here either. Thank goodness Delta is emerging from bankruptcy … they are a great airline.
Sorry Mack, I got my postings confused. My apologies. I was responding to the first posting by pinkyracer.
