manchester podcast

you guys remember the post i wrote about the manchester orchestra show being shut down by the cops at the 585, right (if not, see here to refresh.)

well the band is out with the latest installment of their podcast/tour diary on youtube and they captured the evening in pretty good detail. they even used the post in the video as the backdrop for the piece.

i’m embedding the video below. enjoy.

oh and ps – if you haven’t bought manchester orchestra’s cd yet, you really should. please go over to criminal and buy it. you won’t be disappointed.

The disc is really, really good. I would add the caveat emptor that there are some cringe-worthy moments, as would be expected from such a young band. Definitely recommended to fans of Five Eight, Dismemberment Plan and any other band that gilds the edge of “emo.” I have great hopes for the follow-up. Thanks for the video!

glad you liked the video. i love the disc and have no ‘cringe moments’ on it, but i can understand how some might.

andy hull is a very aggresive, talented songwriter for as young as he is.

    have you seen them live?

I have not seem them live yet, but I can’t wait to. Maybe “cringe” is too strong a word to describe my reaction, but some of the lyrics somehow strike me as a bit underdone. Make no mistake, though, the disc is in constant rotation in the car.
