Animal Cruelty Case Against Falcons Player
News broke last week about animal cruelty charges being brought against Atlanta Falcons player Jonathan Babineaux. Babineaux allegedly argued with his wife, his wife went to the movies, and when she returned, her dog was obviously injured and she immediately took the dog to an animal hospital. On the way to the hospital, the dog was vomiting blood, and it was dead on arrival. Doctors believed the injuries were caused by blunt trauma to the head. Babineaux was charged with felony cruelty to animals.
Why have we not seen any more about this case? More importantly, if Babineaux is found guilty of the crime, what will the Falcons do about it? Seems obvious to me that, if found guilty, Babineaux should be let go. Realistically, though, I’m guessing that since he made 28 tackles last season, that won’t happen.
