US Air Withdraws Delta Buyout Offer

US Airways’ 10.2 billion dollar offer to buy out Atlanta’s Delta Airlines expired today. Looks like Delta (and the jobs of countless Atlantans who work for them) are safe for now. More about the story here. Also, here is a pretty cool photo of the Fly Delta Jets sign on Flickr.

Oh, look. I wrote a post that wasn’t politically oriented. Oops! I hope everyone doesn’t just die of excitement.

Personally, I’m so TOTALLY glad that Delta will still get to be Delta. Maybe, it’s just a “Southern Thang” about me but, I’m proud of my hometown airline. I say RELIGHT that FLY DELTA JETS sign now! I’m putting that out on the wire as we speak!

Agreed, Steve. Also, it allows us natives to say “Delta’s Ready When You Are” to the Atlanta haters. Did you look at the link? I think they did relight the sign already.
