10 Years of Sweetwater

Anniversary party for Sweetwater Brewing next month, Sunday, February 18th at 2 p.m.

I didn’t post this link a while back, but now it seems apropos. 10 great places to see what’s brewing in beer [USA Today]. It lists Atlanta Brewing Company, but what the heck. I enjoy both our local breweries (and miss Dogwood. Sniff).

Anyhow, I hope to be there on the 18th. Leave a comment if you’re attending or just list your favorite local brew.

wow, this is awesome. sweetwater is a great story — two guys saw a need for a local brewery in atlanta. they came here, roughed it for a few years off fulton industrial, produced an outstanding product with no marketing beyond word of mouth. ten years later they are wildly popular, still have no marketing department and have become an anchor in the Atlanta community.

plus the beer is so delicious. and their new beer names so childish. did anyone get a chance to taste the double d’s this summer? still hoping they bring it back. . .

Really liked their Hummer wheat beer, but it was profoundly embarrassing asking for it.

a “happy ending” is another great one to ask for at the bar — they’re going to start selling it this spring.

    Abby,

You can already get Sweetwater’s Happy Ending at Taco Mac. At least at the one on Piedmont in the Lindbergh City Center. Kevin Jones, one of the managers at Taco Mac, sends me beer updates whenever he gets new ones in.
