On the lighter side
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Taco Mac (the one in Va-Hi) is one of the best places to be a regular in all of Atlantaland. I n addition to that, it has one of the best trivia callers around. Anyway, tonight I reached the 225 mark in the Passport Club quite accidentally. Among receiving my Ph.D. from GaTech, I cound this as one of the greatest achievements of my life. And, because I know the other regulars, I was part of a 2nd place trivia team tonight and got most of my bill paid for by the bar regulars.
Let me repeat it again, best place to be a regular in all of Atlanta.
I’m not a regular at the Taco Mac, but I do enjoy the place. In my opinion, the ‘Trivia Guy’ at Brewhouse Cafe is the best caller in ATL. He also looks like Iggy Pop + 20 pounds.
congratulations dan! That’s a pretty impressive milestone. (Looking at that before I post it, I realize I was actually talking about the passport club achievement, but the PhD is pretty good, too).
I too am a regular at Taco Mac, although not the one in VaHi. I go to the new one at Lindbergh City Center. I have been going since they opened back in late August. I love the place and I am also a passport club member, although no where near your 225 count, I am around 83 different beers so far on mine. I even have one of the managers emailing me with the updates to their beer list.
I don’t know about all of Atlanta, but the mojo is still in place. I was in there a few weekends ago, late. The feel of the place is still there, even after the ‘gone corporate’ renovations. The chili-cheese fries aren’t quite worth a one-stop drive from Dallas anymore, but they’re still good for after-evening cooldown.
good wings. good beer. worst satellite music feed (hoobastank, anyone?) in town. dizzyingly painful. the crap music has really cut into my wing numbers.
Hmm. I go there pretty regularly, too. I’m usually alone. Like most regulars.
Oh, and Ryan that works there is the best waiter. And the hottest one, too.
